Partners on board!
The lovely people at The Kimberley Inn in Findhorn are going to make sure the team are set up well by providing us with our lunch on the Day of Departure. Then we have a hot meal to look forward to when we get to their sister pub, The Lock Inn at Fort Augustus at the end of Week 1.
Aren't we lucky cowgirls :-)
Meanwhile I'm hoping some horsey folks out there can help us with some of the gear we'll need to stay safe, dry and fly-free for the two weeks. If anyone can help with fly nets / fringes, fly spray, rain jackets, high-vis gear and ANYTHING else that we will be using we would be very grateful!

It's all coming together
Fiona's been working hard on the details of our route - human and equine accommodation plans are made for several of the nights. Spring and summer approaching will allow Fiona and Cal to visit some of the more unknown territory near the west coast by foot. With some rough terrain to cross it's important to plan ahead. After a break for the winter, our regular team rides are starting again next week and there's also talk of a 3-day training ride to Glen Affric in late April / early May - time to start getting in shape!
We're also booking up our accommodation at the Knoydart Foundation Bunkhouse for a well-earned rest and party at The Old Forge at the end of the ride. Although it turns out it will be a much briefer rest than originally intended ... we can't transport the horses by ferry to Mallaig so will be riding the horses 18 miles out of the peninsula again!
Our 'Just Giving' page is set up for collecting sponsorship for Horseback and we hope someone can help our team by donating equipment as there is such a lot we need for the trip.
More later!
